How, when and with what you should fertilize your geraniums.
Geranium is a flower that often decorates balconies and terraces. It is a very easy plant to grow and without special needs, which is also why it is so common.
However , to bloom optimally, geraniums need nutrients .
So let’s see how to dose them, how often and how to care for them so they can enjoy the wonderful flowers they produce.
- Frequency: There are several ideal times to fertilize geraniums. One is certainly when they are planted and/or decanted. In this case, natural fertilizers such as compost (in this case monthly) or liquids (every 2-3 weeks) can be used.
- When: Other ideal times are in the pre-flowering phase, that is, when the first buds begin to appear, and until summer. However, in the autumn season they can be reduced: during this period the plant does not need nutrients because it is resting.
- As a fertilizer: The most suitable natural fertilizers for geraniums include coffee grounds and Epsom salt, which provide the amounts of nutrients and minerals necessary for the plant to grow healthy and strong.
