Every year, when I plant cucumbers, I fill the bed with manure and leaves from the garden, but not with chemical fertilizers. Due to this, I always choose a rich harvest of sweet and crunchy cucumbers. The main thing is that the soil warms up well, but this process can be accelerated by creating a warm bed.

There are two simple tips for those who plant seedlings and those who sow seeds directly into the ground. A warm bed is a great way to harvest cucumbers much earlier.

To create a warm bed, you need to dig a hole with a shovel, and then fill it with manure and leaves from the garden (as long as they are not from diseased plants). Then the soil in the garden bed should be slightly raised between 15 and 20 centimeters above the ground and watered well. After that, the bed should be covered with foil or other material so that it warms up well.

The day after you plant the bed, you can sow the cucumbers with seeds and cover them with the bed. This is a great way to grow cucumbers from the very beginning.

For those who plant seedlings, it is necessary to dig a hole a little deeper than usual and add freshly cut nettle, which is a complete fertilizer and stimulator of the growth of cucumbers. Then you should place the cucumber seedlings in the hole, sprinkle with soil and water well.

In April, I plant cucumber seedlings only in the greenhouse; it is still too early for open ground, as cucumbers can freeze. In a greenhouse, cucumbers grow well and quickly thanks to a warm and nutritious bed.

I would be happy if my advice helps you.
