If bad weather has damaged them, restore your geraniums.

Geraniums are known to be plants that thrive outdoors. For this reason, they are often found on balconies and terraces.

However, it is also quite a delicate plant that  can suffer damage  if   exposed to the elements .

Let’s see what to do in these cases.

  1. Rot : The main effect of rain on geraniums is to rot their roots. To detect this problem, keep an eye on flowers and leaves: whether they are drooping, yellowing or gradually falling off.
  2. Pests : Some pests that attack this plant proliferate precisely in humid environments, for this reason, make sure that the soil is not excessively wet.
  3. Prevention:  If you know bad weather is coming, move the geraniums to a more sheltered location (as long as there is not an excessive temperature difference between one location and another). You can also cover them with special sheets to prevent the weather from ruining them.
  4. Ruined geranium:  If the rain has already damaged your geraniums, there are a series of operations that can help you restore them. Pull out the roots and cut away those that are already rotten, apply a natural fungicide to protect them, air dry them and replant them in a pot with well-drained soil.
