Tip #1: Make a chicken feeder

  • A large PET bottle (the bigger the better)
  • A strong string or rope (such as mason’s twine)
  • A pot lid (or any other support)
  • A soldering iron or hole punching tool
  • Chicken feed (or corn)

Manufacturing steps:

  1. Prepare the bottle  : Make cuts in the bottom of the PET bottle. These cuts will allow the food to flow out gradually.
  2. Making Holes  : Using a soldering iron, poke a hole in the bottom of the bottle and two holes at the top to attach the string.
  3. Attach the string  : Securely attach the string to the bottle by tying tight knots.
  4. Set up the feeder  : Hang the bottle from a support (like a pot lid) and fill it with chicken feed. The chickens will peck at it and the feed will flow out as it goes.

Tip #2: Transport eggs safely

Materials needed:

  • A 2 liter PET bottle
  • Alcohol (for sterilization)
  • Eggs

Manufacturing steps:

  1. Prepare the bottle  : Remove the label and wash the bottle thoroughly.
  2. Make an opening  : Using a cutting tool, cut an opening in the side of the bottle. Make sure your hand can easily fit in to place the eggs.
  3. Sterilize  : Clean the inside of the bottle with alcohol to prevent mold growth.
  4. Storing the eggs  : Gently place the eggs into the bottle. A 2-liter bottle can hold about 20 eggs.
  5. Close and transport  : Close the bottle and transport your eggs safely, without risk of breakage.
