As bizarre as it may seem, it is possible to grow roses in potatoes and have them last for years and years. This very simple method is enjoying enormous success precisely because of its simplicity.

Roses , a symbol of love and beauty, are among the most popular flowers in the world. There are more than 150 species spread all over the world, and they are available in many different colors.

Below we explain in detail how to put into practice the curious method of growing roses in potatoes .

How to grow a rose in a potato

To do this you will need: a rose, a large potato, a plastic bottle, some soil and a vase.

The first step is to remove all the leaves from the rose stem and cut it about 5-6 cm from the flower. The cut must be oblique and form a 45 degree angle.

Take the very dry potato and, with the help of a knife, make a hole the size of the rose stem. The hole must be large enough to secure the rose stem and prevent it from moving.

Fill the pot with soil and place the potato in it, then cover it with more soil. Cut the base of the plastic bottle and place it on top of the rose, to create a greenhouse effect and help the plant grow.

Once the first leaves have formed, remove the plastic bottle and place the vase in a sunny corner. Water two or three times a day, but without exaggerating with the quantities.

As you have seen, growing a rose in a potato is a very simple operation and can be a very nice gift.
