Anthurium is a fairly common plant even in homes, as its characteristic red heart-shaped flowers help to beautify our homes.
Like all plants, the anthurium needs frequent care and, above all, maintenance because of its characteristics.
Let’s see what you should know about this beautiful plant.
- Light : The anthurium prefers indirect sunlight; for this reason, it is a plant that can be kept indoors as long as it is not in the shade so that its flowering can be facilitated.
- Water : One of the most common mistakes is to give this plant much more water than it actually needs. The ideal is to check the soil and only give water when it is dry to the depth (generally every 2 or 3 days).
- Soil : If the soil is too clayey, it can cause difficulties for the anthurium, so it is better to prefer a permeable soil that provides oxygen and water to the roots.
- Fertilizers : Natural fertilizers are preferable, compost is even better. This should be changed at least every 3 months.
- Insects : Like many plants, the anthurium is also a victim of numerous insects that can ruin leaves and flowers. For this reason, neem oil can be used.
- Propagation : The anthurium plant can be planted in different ways: by seeds, by separating the roots and storing them or by its cuttings.
