The Chinese always manage to surprise with their achievements, and gardening is no exception. In search of a way to increase the yield of tomatoes, I turned to Chinese methods and was delighted with the results. It turns out that tomatoes can produce two to three times as much! However, there are some details to consider.
The Chinese use the following method: after germination, they let the tomato seedlings grow for a month, providing them with normal care. Then they cut the tomato seedlings right next to the ground and transplant the shoots into separate cups with soil. At the same time, it is important to create optimal conditions for such seedlings, which can be done even in an apartment.
The air should be heated to a temperature of about 25-26°C, but not higher than this value. In addition, tomatoes need enough light. Under the right conditions, they take root quickly and successfully, and the main thing is that the soil does not dry out. Caring for these seedlings is not difficult or particularly difficult.
What does this approach give? So here’s the fun part. After such a transplant, tomato bushes begin to develop on two stems. This ensures an increase in productivity. I personally tested it in practice. Both stems come out strong and healthy. However, there is one small nuance that is easily removed.
Due to the large number of fruits on one bush, a lack of nutrients can occur, which can affect the taste of tomatoes and make them less sweet and juicy. In this case, it is recommended to remove the upper brushes. This way, the remaining fruits will retain the taste as in conventional cultivation, but in much larger quantities. If quantity and not taste is important to you, you do not need to remove the upper brushes. In this case, the harvest will be even more abundant.
For me personally, quality is always more important than quantity. If you grow tomatoes to sell, this method will be a real treasure.
