Have you heard that spathiphyllum needs regular care, including wiping the leaves with a damp cloth up to five times a day? And it also needs spraying, the more often the better. And of course, do not forget about watering: in winter once a week, in summer every three days, and in spring and autumn everything is much more difficult.
But my Spathiphyllum is a real fighter. He probably doesn’t even know what a wet sponge is. He didn’t see the sprayer either. But he knows about water, fertilizers and lamps. Showers, spray bottles and humidifiers are not for him.

And so my flower doesn’t feel offended by me. I like it with its beautiful leaves and stems, regardless of the season. I tried different methods of caring for it before I found the right one for both of us.
1. A quiet and cozy place.
My spathiphyllum likes to stand on the floor next to the heater. An unusual choice, isn’t it? From May to October, the battery does not last, and then it feels best. In winter, the leaves may turn slightly yellow, but this is insignificant. The main thing is that there are no problems with drying out of the soil and roots.
The light from the phyto lamp falls on it constantly, both in summer and in winter. This is important because there is not much sun in the cities of the north.
2. Water as needed, allowing the soil to dry out.
I don’t water on a strict schedule, but when the top layer of soil dries out. Sometimes I wait until the leaves droop a little before watering. This is an excellent prevention against overflow.

3. Warm, plentiful showers.
Once the soil is well dried, I take the plant into the bathroom and shower it. This is ideal for spider mites and other problems.
4. Regular feeding with high-quality fertilizers.
I use mineral fertilizers and dilute them in water for irrigation. I do this more often than recommended, but reduce the concentration.
