Lemon peels can also be used to  create an oil, called oleolite.  It is a completely natural remedy that serves to give vitality to the body but also unparalleled well-being. In particular, oleolite has its origins in ancient times and can be prepared not only with lemon peels, but by using different vegetables to add them to a vegetable oil.  The lemon peels are left to macerate in oil . In this way, the benefits of the oils contained in the peels (or in the plants you choose to leave to macerate) are exploited combined with the moisturizing and preserving power of extra virgin olive oil. The oil, in fact, plays a solvent role, capable of dissolving all the fat-soluble substances in which the plants are rich. Extraction can take place when these elements macerate cold. The properties of lemon and its aromas are combined with the mixture of antioxidant substances contained in  extra virgin olive oil, notoriously high in polyphenols. The benefits that oil brings to our body can be many. It can be used, in fact, as  a tonic , it can  stimulate venous return . In addition, when used as a massage oil on wet limbs, it revives circulation.

How to prepare lemon oil: procedure and tips.

Lemon oil can be considered as a massage oil with different functions, when mixed with salt to create a scrub. It can also refresh the eye contour, lightening dark circles and puffiness under the eyes, allowing microcirculation. The appearance and face will have clearer features and a fresher appearance. To prepare it you will need:

  • lemon peel in the amount of 100 grams
  • EVO oil, in the quantity of 100 grams

In principle, lemon peels should have exactly half the amount of oil, in proportion.  Lemons should be finely chopped , the peels should be preserved and deprived of the white part. The peels should be left to dry for about two days in the air or, better yet, in the sun. The oil should be half of the peels obtained. The indicated dosage is an example of preparation. If you want to increase the quantities, you should always keep in mind the proportion of the two ingredients. Drying prevents the formation of mold. Then, the lemon peels will be placed in a previously sterilized glass container. At this point, you will pour  the oil that will completely cover the peels . The jar should be shaken frequently to ensure that the peels are always covered by the oil.
