With orange peel

Citrus fruits and their strong smell are perfect for preventing the proliferation of moths and butterflies in cupboards. We put an orange peel in the flour and this way we keep them away.
Let’s change it every time it has become dry!

With dried lemon

Since citrus fruits are the best ally, here is another effective and also fragrant trick. We take a lemon and cut it into thin, thin slices. Place the slices on a sheet of kitchen paper towels and cover them with another absorbent sheet. We put them in the microwave and brown them for about 5 minutes. Let’s make sure to release the steam every minute, then close and they will finish drying (this step can also be done in the oven but the period will be longer, the choice is yours). Now let the lemon slices dry and carefully lift them from the paper. Place them in a bowl together with cloves and put them in the cupboard. This will keep insects away from our food.

Hand peeling

To make a hand scrub, mix the grated orange peel with two teaspoons of fine salt. Mix well and we will notice that the oils contained in the peel slowly mix with the salt. We use this mixture for a smoothing scrub in the shower.

Flavored oil

If we want to prepare an oil with a citrus flavor, one solution can certainly be to leave the peels to infuse in a jar soaked in plenty of extra virgin olive oil. Over time, the peels will release their essential oils and the oil will take on that fresh, sweet and sour flavor, perfect for dressing salads in summer.

candles

Cut the oranges in half, empty the oranges of the pulp and clean the inside of the peel. At this point, using the pasta cutters, embroider one of the two halves with some decorations. We will insert a candle inside the other and then cover it to create homemade candles for free, beautiful and fragrant.
