The Spathiphyllum or lily of peace is one of the most beautiful flowers that can be found in the home. Its cultivation is simple, there are few rules to follow and some tricks to ensure impeccable flowering and give longevity to our plant. Let’s see together how to transfer it!
The spatafillo or lily of peace is a wonderful plant of Costa Rica that is usually given to pregnant women but symbolizes the general gift.
We take the plant out of the pot and plant it in the new glass. If necessary, we carefully loosen the earth from the pot with a knife, being careful not to break the roots. Then we try to gently untangle the roots. And then we try to remove as much earth as possible.
Then we prepare a mixture of earth and perlite. And we do not crush, but use a toothpick to make the earth penetrate between the roots with a slightly rotating action. We hit a little and then water abundantly. Then we immediately move it to a sheltered position to recover.

As for watering, remember to be constant but never exaggerate. Because, as everyone knows by now, giving plants too much water can literally be fatal.
In spring, summer every 3-4 days. Winter every 7 days. In summer, if it is not flowering, we must fertilize it with fertilizer for green plants every 10-12 days. Remember to always remove excess water and any water residues and water sparingly.
We also remember to often vaporize the leaves with demineralized water and a spray, a useful operation in summer and winter when we turn on the radiators.
Exhibition
For exposure, instead, we prefer bright places but without direct sun that would ruin the plant’s leaf. So areas in partial shade or in a nice bright room are fine.
And now a curiosity that perhaps not everyone will know. Although from the outside the real flower of the Spataphyllum may appear its beautiful white leaves, these are not the case! The one inside, which is called spadix and is cream-colored, is its real flower! White leaves are modified leaves called spathes that serve to attract pollinating insects.
